REFLECT
Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and
Rafay Essani ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of REFLECT. By creating
an account or using REFLECT, you agree to these Terms. If you do not
agree, do not use the service.
REFLECT is a private reflection and journaling tool. It is not a
therapy service, crisis support line, mental health treatment, or
medical advice platform. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis
or are in danger, please contact a qualified professional or emergency
service in your country.
1. Who we are
REFLECT is operated by Rafay Essani, an individual based in Pakistan.
For any questions regarding these Terms, contact us at
essanirafay@gmail.com.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to use REFLECT.
-
If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that your parent or
legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
-
By using REFLECT, you represent that the information you provide is
accurate and that you have the legal capacity to enter into this
agreement.
3. Your account
-
You sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for
keeping your Google credentials secure.
- One account per person. You may not share your account.
-
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
-
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us
immediately.
4. Your content
Your reflections, mood check-ins, and any other content you create in
REFLECT ("Your Content") belong to you. You retain full ownership.
-
By using REFLECT, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to
process and store Your Content solely for the purpose of providing
the service to you.
-
We do not claim ownership of Your Content. We do not sell it, share
it, or use it to train AI models.
-
Your Content is transmitted to an AI provider (OpenAI / OpenRouter)
only to generate your reflection response. This is disclosed in our
Privacy Policy.
-
You are responsible for ensuring Your Content does not violate any
applicable law or third-party rights.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use REFLECT to:
- Store, transmit, or generate illegal content of any kind
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code
- Use the service in a way that could damage, overload, or impair our infrastructure
- Circumvent any rate limits, subscription checks, or access controls
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate
these rules, without notice.
6. Free trial
-
New users receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all
features. No payment details are required to start the trial.
-
The trial begins automatically when you create an account.
-
After 7 days, access to premium features requires a paid
subscription. Your data is not deleted if your trial expires — it
remains accessible when you subscribe.
-
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free trial offer
at any time for new users, without affecting trials already in
progress.
7. Subscriptions and payments
-
Paid subscriptions are billed on a monthly or yearly basis,
depending on the plan you choose.
-
Web payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. iOS payments are
processed by Apple via the App Store. We never directly handle or
store your payment card details.
-
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period
unless cancelled before the renewal date.
-
You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings →
Manage subscription, or through Apple's subscription management.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
-
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where
required by applicable law (including Pakistani consumer protection
law and Apple/Lemon Squeezy refund policies where applicable).
-
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' written
notice via email or in-app notification. Continued use after the
effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
8. Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep REFLECT available and reliable, but we do not guarantee
uninterrupted availability. We may:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time
- Perform maintenance that may temporarily limit access
-
Discontinue the service entirely, in which case we will provide at
least 30 days' notice and you will be entitled to a prorated refund
for any unused prepaid subscription period
9. Disclaimer of warranties
REFLECT is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any
kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we
disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied
warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and
non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted,
or free of harmful components. AI-generated reflections are
informational only — they are not professional advice of any kind.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Rafay Essani and
REFLECT shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special,
consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss
of data, loss of profits, or emotional harm, arising from your use of
or inability to use the service.
In any case, our total cumulative liability to you shall not exceed the
greater of (a) the total amount you paid to us in the 3 months
preceding the claim, or (b) USD $10.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or
limitations on liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability is
limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rafay Essani, REFLECT, and
any associated service providers from any claims, damages, losses, or
expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of
the service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third-party
rights.
12. Termination
You may stop using REFLECT and delete your account at any time from
Settings → Delete account.
We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if you violate
these Terms or if we reasonably believe continued access poses a risk
to the service or other users. If we terminate your account without
cause, we will refund any unused prepaid subscription amount on a
prorated basis.
Upon termination, your right to use the service ends. Sections 4, 9,
10, 11, and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws
of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to conflict of law
principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of REFLECT shall
first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation by
contacting us at
essanirafay@gmail.com.
If not resolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the
exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pakistan.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material,
we will notify you via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before
they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes
acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop
using REFLECT and delete your account before the effective date.
15. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our
Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement
between you and us regarding REFLECT and supersede all prior
agreements or understandings relating to the service.
